THE 2019/2020 UNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH MASTERCARD FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP FOR UNDERGRADUATES AND POSTGRADUATES SCHOLARS  (FULLY FUNDED)


Together with the Mastercard Foundation, the University of Edinburgh provides 200 complete scholarships to college students from Africa with great educational and leadership potential but few educational opportunities.


Along with the scholarship, the Scholars System facilitates transformative leadership development to inspire and support Scholars to make change within their communities and countries on the return home.

The University of Edinburgh offers a completely funded academic and transformative leadership program for undergraduate and postgraduate students from Sub-Saharan Africa.
Students will receive in depth support to eliminate barriers to review in Edinburgh and can reap the benefits of extracurricular opportunities including summer time schools and internships.
This program aims to build the capabilities and talents of every student to allow them to make a difference with their house countries and communities on the return.
Undergraduate
The Scholars Plan at the University of Edinburgh provides 80 undergraduate scholarships to students from Africa with great academic and leadership potential but few educational opportunities.

30 scholarships are for sale to the 2019/2020 academic year that may cover the entire tuition charges and expenses for accommodation and maintenance.

On top of monetary support, Scholars will take part in activities within the wider Scholars System at the University of Edinburgh including a number of summer colleges, project-based placements, mentorship, and activities during each educational year.

2019/20 applications

Applications for 2019 access to the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program in the University of Edinburgh open up on October 1 2018 in 12:00pm GMT and close on November 30 at 12:00pm GMT.

Eligibility Criteria

For undergraduate entry, candidates need to qualify academically for entrance to the University of Edinburgh in virtually any program except Medicine and Vet Medicine
You must have achieved your college leaving qualifications within the last 3 years just before entry date, for 2019 entry that's from 2016 onwards
Applicants should be a resident and citizen of a Sub-Saharan African nation
Applicants should not have got completed an undergraduate level previously
Applicants have to demonstrate a history of leadership and service of their community, and;
Applicants can present financial circumstances which display they lack financial methods to pursue higher education within their home country or elsewhere
Postgraduate
The Scholars Plan at the University of Edinburgh provides 60 postgraduate scholarships to students from Africa with great academic and leadership potential but few educational opportunities.

10 scholarships are for available to the 2019/2020 academic year, which will cover the full tuition costs and expenses for accommodation and maintenance.

On top of economic support, Scholars will take part in activities within the wider Scholars System at the University of Edinburgh including work-based placements, mentorship, and alternative activities through the academic year.

MSc Development and Environment
MSc Global Health Policy
LLM Human Rights
MA Design for Change
MSc Sustainable Energy Systems

Applications for 2019 access to the Mastercard Basis Scholars Program in the University of Edinburgh open up on October 1 2018 in 12:00pm GMT and close on November 30 at 12:00pm GMT.

Applicants must need to apply for just one of our eligible programs listed above
Applicants need to qualify academically for entrance to the amount of their choice
Applicants should be a resident and citizen of a Sub-Saharan African country
Applicants should not have got completed a postgraduate level previously
Applicants have to demonstrate a history of leadership and support of their community, and;
Applicants have the ability to present financial circumstances which present they lack financial methods to pursue higher education within their home country or elsewhere
