The
International Relations Committee of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) is
very happy to announce travel awards for surgeons aged 30 to 50. These awards,
in the quantity of $4,000 each, provide international surgeons with the chance
to go to and participate completely in the educational activities of the ACS
annual Clinical Congress.
They may be proposed to specifically assist surgeons
who work in community or local hospitals or treatment centers in countries
apart from america and Canada, or who are from badly resourced educational
departments of surgery in badly resourced countries.
A fresh
Community Surgeon Travel Award has been donated through the generosity of the
Doctors Duremdes family designated for Filipino surgeons. It offers choice to
meritorious applications from Iloilo Province, Panay Island, and nonurban
Philippine communities.
Each
awardee will receive gratis registration to the annual Clinical Congress and
also to one available postgraduate course held through the Clinical Congress.
Assistance will be provided to acquire preferential housing within a

Requirements:
Candidates
must be graduates of colleges of medicine who've completed their surgical
training.
Candidates
must be at least 30 years old, but under 50, on the day that the entire

must submit their applications using their intended long term location.
Applications will be accepted for control only once the applicants have been
around in medical practice, teaching, or research for at least one 12 months at
their meant permanent location, pursuing completion of most formal training
(including fellowships and scholarships).

must show proof dedication to high quality surgery, to surgical teaching, and
also to improving usage of surgical treatment in their community.
Candidates
